PPC wishes to congratulate Julie Mistri on winning the 2010 CSHP Bohdy Jaworski Award. Julie has embraced the opportunity to support the infrastructure of the Emergency Department, addressing patient safety issues, as well as day to day operational issues that previously impeded workflow both for Emergency and Pharmacy. With the patient as the central focus, Julie has enhanced patient care with a close eye to community relationships.
In addition, Julie has undertaken the oversight of a pharmacy-run DVT outpatient clinic in Emergency, which has contributed significantly to the improvement of ED patient flow. Patients now receive more efficient and satisfying care, as well as obtaining a greater understanding of their clinical circumstance. Julie has truly been a strong ambassador for the role of Pharmacy in the Emergency Department.
The Bohdy Jaworski award was established in 1995 to recognize individuals who have improved the practice of hospital pharmacy through a project, process or protocol.
