U.S. Health Care Legislation Passed

President Barack Obama and Congress approved the historic health care legislation on Sunday, March 21, 2010. The outcome of this legislation is the extension of health care coverage to tens of millions of uninsured Americans.

At the bill signing on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, President Obama remarked that the health reform will “mark a new season in America. We have now just enshrined, as soon as I sign this bill, the core principle that everybody should have some basic security when it comes to their health care” (NY Times).
