Upcoming ISMP Canada Conferences – Advancing Safe Medication Practices

ISMP Canada will be hosting medication safety conferences across Canada. The "Advancing Safe Medication Practices" conferences, presented with support from Health Canada, will include two separate full-day sessions for healthcare practitioners in the acute care and long term care sectors. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) workshops will also be offered in conjunction with the conferences.

Sessions include:

• Information about the Canadian Medication Incident and Reporting System (CMIRPS) & ISMP Canada’s incident reporting and analysis system.
• Human factors engineering principles and how they apply to healthcare.
• Strategies and tools that can be used within your organization to enhance safe medication practices.

Upcoming dates include:

• Halifax, NS - Nov. 25 & 26, 2008
• Regina, SK - Jan. 27 & 28, 2009
• Ottawa, ON - Mar. 31 & Apr. 1, 2009
